I believe that progressive education is more than textbooks, homework and exams, so I promote a holistic approach to education since I started teaching. My long term observations (over a 15 years period) on my former students show that the outdoor education integrated professionally into formal learning maximizes the achievements of all students.
This is why I take Physics/Science tutoring to a higher level and I include into all my tutoring programs 3-4 practical applications throughout the year (day/weekend field trips), based on integrated sciences and experiential learning. This will help my tutees to understand better some of the concepts we have studied (or we will study), to see the links between different topics and integrate Science into real life as well as nature into Science. All these programs consolidate the knowledge, enhance a wide range of essential skills (observation, communication, critical and lateral thinking, collaboration, organizational, etc) and build sustainability, responsibility and a healthy attitude, which in long run will bring fabulous results.
We will negotiate together the best days for these activities, so the students won’t miss out school. I would greatly appreciate if your child will participate in all the upcoming educational activities, because they are part of my effort and commitment to help them improve, develop and succeed.
If you scroll down to the Portfolio section, you can open the page Science trips, which shows a wide selection of pictures from all my Science applications I run in the last 10 years, until June 2024.
The details and the exact dates of the Science activities will be announced as we get closer. but the list of the planned activities for the 2024-2025 academic year include:
